C. diff (Clostridioides difficile) Infection Treatment

  • Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT)

What is FMT? Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) is an innovative approved treatment that has – in randomized, controlled clinical trials – resolved 80-90% of infections caused by recurrent C. difficile. FMT’s have been around for years, but recently became FDA approved through clinical trials that MRC helped perform.

The goal of an FMT is to restore the microbial flora of your colon back to healthy flora so that you can clear the Cdiff spores and prevent future infections.

    Treatment/Prevention Options:

    • Rebyota
    • Vowst
    • Zinplava
    • Clinical trials related to Cdiff infection (Lumen or Vedanta)
